"The day one of my works is distributed as little stamps at the entrance of a church and has the same value as an image of José Gregorio Hernández (a popular saint). Then, that day, my work will make sense. In the meantime I try to demistify the "exclusive work", the "unique" work of art. I make post-cards and distribute them. I believed in the published images, in the images that circulate, in disturbing images, in militant images. Militant images in the sense of having at least a some sense. I do not believed in the marketable work of art, I do not believe in the work that sells in an auction, nor in a museum. On the contrary, if one gets into a museum the goal is to disrupt the established codes." |
